The Shagbark Pavilion is a waterfront folly in a network of woodland destinations on a private estate that includes sculpture, walkways, overlooks and shelters. The design pays homage to the woodland site and rocky outcroppings by evoking the iconic texture of Shagbark Hickories as a rooftop form, using local stone, and emerging from the ground like the opening of a hillside cavern.
